Making zero-waste events the new normal in Aotearoa

Nonstop Solutions is a female-founded, award-winning event waste management company based in New Zealand, helping events, venues, and organisations reduce waste at the source and maximise resource recovery.

Founded in Greater Wellington. Working across Aotearoa.

Our Mission

Practical sustainability that actually works on the ground

We believe waste minimisation should be achievable, measurable, and embedded into operations. Not treated as an afterthought.

Our mission is to design waste systems that eliminate unnecessary waste, recover valuable materials, and support organisations across Aotearoa in transitioning toward a circular economy.

We work alongside our clients to plan, implement, and continuously improve waste minimisation strategies that deliver measurable results over time.

Our Story

From grassroots beginnings to nationwide impact

Nonstop Solutions began at Wellington’s Newtown Festival, where a small group of volunteers worked to divert waste from landfill through hands-on sorting and recovery.

As demand grew, the work formalised into Wellington Waste Managers in 2018, delivering structured waste minimisation services across community events.

Recognising the opportunity to create broader, system-level change, co-founders Karina McCallum and Sophie Brooker established Nonstop Solutions; expanding beyond events to support venues, councils, and organisations across New Zealand.

Today, Nonstop Solutions delivers tailored waste minimisation systems nationwide, helping clients reduce environmental impact while maintaining operational efficiency.

What makes Nonstop Solutions different?

We design waste systems that are visible, effective, and easy to use for attendees, vendors and crew alike.
We’re event people first, so we understand pressure, timelines and the need for a smooth operation. Our team stays onsite, stays accountable, and solves problems before you see them.

Systems, not just bins

We design full waste minimisation plans. From procurement advice through to on-site resource recovery, so sustainability is built into the event, not bolted at the end.

Measurable results

We track diversion rates, material flows, and operational data to guide continuous improvement and demonstrate real impact.

Hands-on delivery

Our team works on the ground during events, supporting staff, vendors and attendees to ensure systems are actually used, not ignored.

Build for the long term

Many clients return year after year, refining systems and improving outcomes over time rather than starting from scratch each season.

Partnerships that Multiply Impact

We don’t stop at “less waste.” We deliver more impact.

Through bold partnerships, we help events and venues reuse more, recover more, and give more back to their communities. By working with trusted organisations, we unlock solutions that go beyond what any single provider could deliver alone, creating systems that are practical, scalable and meaningful.

FillGood — Reuse at Scale

From stadiums to street festivals, Nonstop has played a hands-on role in growing reuse across Te Whanganui-a-Tara. We’ve trialled systems, trained crews, and made reuse work in the real world.

Today, we’re a core partner of FillGood - part of the working group and on the ground delivering some of the country’s largest reusable cup and foodware rollouts.

Together we have circulated 149,000+ reusables!

Thinking about reusable serviceware at your event? We can help you plan and implement it successfully.

Cans for Kai — Turning Waste into Meals

Through our partnership with The Kai Ika Project, aluminium cans collected at events are transformed into meals for whānau. Reducing landfill and supporting communities at the same time.

Since December 2024, this partnership has already:

  • Diverted 6.1 tonnes of aluminium from landfill

  • Created 2,440 + family meals

  • Avoided 11,600 + kg of carbon emissions

It’s a simple, powerful loop: turning empty cans into something better.

Award-winning, and proud of it.
